As a leader in the beauty network marketing industry, I’ve learned that recruiting isn’t just about bringing in as many new team members as possible. Rather, it’s about finding motivated, driven people who have a vision for building an income in the beauty industry. Foundational Assumptions

Before I jump into the heart of the blog, it’s important we set some expectations first.

  • Your ability to recruit starts with your mindset. If you don’t believe you can build and mentor a successful team then it will never happen. Same goes for any goal in life. The ability to achieve anything starts with our outlook and formulated beliefs around our capability to accomplish it.

 

  • Secondly, your ability to recruit is going to be as good as the company and the brand you represent. So I strongly advise any one and every one who is considering this industry to do a lot of home work on the brand, the products, the services, the mission, the vision, the CEO’s, the marketing tools, the history, etc… to ensure you land with a reputable brand. Ultimately you want to be a company that has strong leadership, amazing products, and top notch customer service.

 

  • Are you resourceful and coachable? I’ve met thousands of ladies in this industry who refuse to accept responsibility for their business. Rather than owning their choices and actions, they would prefer to play victim. And worst of all use the excuse of not knowing something or having something in order to move forward. That’s the definition of being resourceful – going out and getting what you need and not relying on your up-line or others to do it for you.

 

  • Patience. We live in a world where it’s so easy to beat the competition any more because people aren’t patient. We live in a culture full of quitters. No one wants to put the time and dig through the mud in order to reach the levels of success they desire. Instead, most people want an easy path to success and money. And that does not exist in any industry let alone network marketing.

You don’t just want to recruit anyone and everyone just like you don’t want to target just anybody with your product. Here’s what to focus on:

  • Understand Your Ideal Recruit: Who is the perfect fit for your team? Think about your current rockstars or current rockstars in the company you represent. What qualities do they have? Are they passionate about beauty? Are they driven by success? Where do they hang out online? Or where do they hang out in your local community? Define these traits to know who you’re looking for. And don’t be afraid to let someone know that it isn’t a fit for them. I’ve had hundreds of conversations where I’ve had to tell someone it’s not the income stream they’re looking for based on what they’ve told me.

 

  • Engage in Authentic Conversations: When recruiting, it’s important to build relationships, not just pitch. Focus on getting to know your potential recruits and understand what they want from their business. The best weapon in your sales arsenal whether you have experience or not is to ask insightful open-ended questions. Come up with a list of 10-20 that you can always reference if you feel stuck in a conversation.

 

  • Share the Opportunity: Be transparent about the opportunity. Talk about the products, compensation plan, corporate structure, trips, potential for growth, etc… You never know which detail will connect with a lead. However, if in a one on one conversation, be selective and specific about discussing the ‘features and benefits’ that tie into what they’ve opened up about. We don’t just want to throw everything at them and hope something sticks. When you are creating marketing material such as lives or reels, target the emotion and experience that each benefit of joining hits on. Make sure your recruits understand that this is a business opportunity, not just a side hustle. Show them how they can build a sustainable income and achieve financial independence with the right effort and mindset.

 

Tip: Be real and authentic when talking to prospects. If they see you are passionate about the products and the business, they will be more inclined to join your team.
